How many offenders serving life sentences apply for judicial review under Section 745 of the Criminal Code?

According to the authors of Canadian Criminal Justice – A Primer which was published in 1997, “There are now more than 2000 inmates to whom section 745 does or will apply, and it is estimated that half of them will apply for judicial review. To date, 175 have reached the 15-year point in their life terms and 74 have applied for judicial review. Of the 63 cases now complete, 13 were refused and 50 were granted some reduction in the period of parole ineligibility.”
