Following the trial and sentencing, there may be a huge letdown. For many weeks or months the trial has totally consumed you and your waking hours. Now it is over. People return to their jobs and you try to resume your routines. But your loved one has been murdered and is never going to come back.
There is still the terrible void. You may or may not feel that justice has been done. You may have very ambivalent feelings about the whole trial process. You may be very angry. If you had hoped that the trial and a guilty verdict would bring a sense of peace, you may be disappointed that this is not the case.
