Corrections and Conditional Release Act (CCRA)

This is the federal legislation governing the corrections and parole system. It provides direction for federal correctional institutions as well as direction for decisions relating to the release of prisoners and the conditions of the release. [While the legislation acknowledges the role of victims, consultations are currently being held with victims across Canada to hear how services for victims could be improved. Changes in the CCRA may result from these consultations.]
